Wedding Registry

On October 20th 2012 I will be taking a big step and marrying my best friend.  Aww I know!  I have been however dragging my feet like crazy.   We have 70 days until the wedding and guess who still hasn't bought her wedding dress.  That's right this girl!  I have the dress picked out but haven't paid for it yet and this is why.  The dress is at David's Bridal.  Their payment options suck!  It's either pay out of pocket, get the store credit card or put the dress on lay a way.  I was excited for the 3rd option until they told me its 40% down then you only get 2 months to pay the dress off.  So my dress is $850.  That's $340 down, and  $255 a month until the dress is paid off.  $255 is more than I pay for my Jeep in a month!  That's like a month and a half worth of payments!  Geez!  So when I go home to Michigan on the 18th of this month I talked to my mom about it and she said she'd put the dress on her Visa so I can get it ordered.

We are also ordering my girls dresses at the same time.   The maid of honor my cousin will be wearing a Coral colored dress and the other 3 girls will be wearing Tangerine.  I wanted to go with long dresses but 3 of my girls are on the short side and one of them said something about long dresses making them look shorter so we are going to look at short dresses or tea length as well.  As long as it looks good I'm fine either way, I'd really like long but we'll see.  I want everyone to be comfortable!

The guys already have their tuxes picked out, and the groom and one of the groomsman is all fitted we just have 3 more groomsman to get fitted and we are all set with them and the tuxes.  Pretty sad the guys are ahead of us on outfits!

So in order to get everything done on my end for the wedding we are going to Michigan this next weekend.  The 18th I'm getting the dress then we have our cake tasting at 5pm that night, then at 6pm were doing engagement pictures and were having a cookout so I can see all of my family!  Some of them I haven't seen since Marcus was born!  Then Sunday we are going to pick out our flowers for our bouquets.  Then sadly we have to head back to Indiana.

Last Wednesday I went to Kohl's to do our wedding registry I didn't figure Justin would want to be bothered with registering for towels and bedding and all that "woman stuff."  So I took Marcus and we spent a good few hours at Kohl's.  I had to quit when the scanner told me my registry was full..LOL  Opps.  After I finished registering I thought about it and decided that I don't need to have plates or silverware on there because I have all those things and it frees up stuff so I can get other stuff I really want like that 8qt crock pot!  But I was nice and registered for a 13" pancake pan for Justin since he likes to make pancakes.

I also started a registry at Target registering for some stuff there that I didnt at Kohl's.  I mean I highly doubt anyone will buy us the tv stand that I registered for but hey its worth a shot right!  The bedding is a lot cheaper at Target but I think thats because the thread count is lower, but you can't complain when your not buying!  We aren't having a bridal shower so I just hope that I get enough stuff at the wedding to help us out with our new place.

Here is a picture of my helper after he crashed out at Kohl's while doing the registry.

He was so cute he had all these older ladies drooling all over him.  I love this little guy!

I just hope I have everything I need registered for and haven't forgotten anything.  And I'm hoping that most of the big ticket stuff I want we end up getting because lord knows with a new baby I can't afford it!

  2. I had SO much fun but man I was like I need so much stuff, need or want..LOL But there is so much stuff out there and they give you this huge list of stuff you should register for some of which I know I will never use, but it was fun to plan out the color schemes of my kitchen and bedrooms :)
